Capitalism, Work and the Regulation of Environmental Risks

This course will examine the relationships between capitalism, work, and the emergence of environmental risks. Particular emphasis will be given to the study of relations between the state policy, trade unions, and the environmental movements with respect to the regulation of environmental risks. The course will study concrete and contemporary problems and their related modes of regulation in Canada and, more specifically, in Northern Ontario. (lec 3) cr 3.
