Bursaries for full-time and part-time students

Students must submit completed bursary application forms to the Student Awards Office, 1st floor, R.D. Parker Building.  Bursary application forms can be printed using Adobe Acrobat.  Unless otherwise, specified, only one bursary application forms is required for all bursaries.

The LUAA-Alumni Scholarships for Part-time Students (3)

Value: $500 (one 6-credit course) or $250 (one 3-credit course). Recipients: part-time students enrolled in any program, studying in outside centres or on-campus, who have completed at least five Laurentian University courses. Based on academic standing.

The Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-time Students “LAMPS” Scholarships (4)

Value: $500 (one 6-credit course) or $250 (one 3-credit course). Recipients: the two part-time students with the highest overall average at the completion of at least five courses (30 credits) and no more than 9.5 courses (57 credits), AND the two part-time students who attained the highest overall average at the completion of at least 10 courses (60 credits) and no more than 14.5 courses (87 credits).

The Heather Darroch Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-time Students “LAMPS” and the friends and colleagues of the late Heather Darroch, former President and active member of the association, who passed away in 1988. Value: $500 (one 6-credit course) or $250 (one 3-credit course). Recipient: a part-time student on the basis of academic standing in the previous school year.

L.U. Scholarships for Part-time Students (10)

Value: $500 (one 6-credit course) or $250 (one 3-credit course). Recipients: five part-time undergraduate students (1st degree) with the highest overall average at the completion of at least five and no more than ten 6-credit courses (or equiv.), AND five part-time students (1st degree) with the highest overall average at the completion of ten or more courses (or equiv.) Students must be officially registered as part-time students, on or off campus, during the session or term in which the scholarships are awarded.

Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-time Students (LAMPS) Bursary

Value: up to $500/ea. Recipients: part-time students who are Ontario residents as defined by OSAP, have demonstrated financial need, and have completed at least one 6-credit course or two 3-credit courses at Laurentian.

Lamps 40th Anniversary (1969-2009) Bursary

Established by the Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-Time Students (LAMPS).  The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to a part-time student enrolled in any program at Laurentian University.  Value is variable.  Application is required.

 

LAMPS Recognition Award

 

The LAMPS Recognition Award have been developed to recognize Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-Time Student members who not only excel academically but go above and beyond within the community. These awards are funded by the Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-Time Students (LAMPS) and are given annually to six part-time Envision or on-campus and/or full-time Envision students enrolled in any program at Laurentian University. Two awards will be presented for each session (fall, winter and spring) to total six awards per year. The recipients must be in good academic standing with a minimum average of 70% within the last semester. The recipients must demonstrate examples of strong community involvement and superior initiative within their participation in extra-curricular activities. Applicants are required to submit a letter indicating in detail how they meet the criteria for these awards.  Value of each award is $700.  Selection of award recipients shall be made by the Student Awards Office at Laurentian University. Application Required.

LAMPS First Nation, Metis and Inuit Recognition Awards

The “LAMPS First Nation, Metis and Inuit Recognition Awards” have been developed to recognize Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-Time First Nation, Metis and Inuit Student members who not only excel academically but go above and beyond within the community. These awards are funded by the Laurentian Association of Mature and Part-Time Students (LAMPS) and are given annually to three part-time Envision or on-campus and/or full-time Envision First Nations, Metis and Inuit students enrolled in any program at Laurentian University. One award will be presented for each session (fall, winter and spring) to total three awards per year.
