Amanda Voros (M.Sc., April 23) - The altered secretome of Mycoplasma capricolum induced by an acid pH (Supervised by Dr. Mazen Saleh)

Sarah Bogart (M.Sc., April 23) - A technique for the elucidation of corm microstructures of cotton-sedge, Eriophorum vaginatum, using X-ray µCT imaging (Co-supervised by Drs. Graeme Spiers and Ewa Cholewa)

4th-year (BIOL 4035 E/F and ENES 4105) Research Thesis Defences

On March 31, 2010, 4th-year students from Biology (BIOL 4035E/F) and Environmental Earth Science (ENES 4105) presented their research theses and fielded questions from the public following their presentations.

BIOL 5056 Student Research Seminars, April 1, 2009

On April 1, 2010, eighteen graduate (M.Sc.) students of BIOL 5056 presented informative seminars on their research projects and some data that they have already collected. A wide variety of topics were covered under themes of parasitic organisms, restoration ecology, populations dynamics, genetics, damaged ecosystems, electromagnetic environments, and cancer biology.

Four of our cross-appointees from the  Regional Cancer Program (RCP) of the Sudbury Regional Hospital were highlighted in an online Northern Life article on 15 April, entitled, "World class research happening in Sudbury." The cancer research work of Drs. Robert Lafrenie, Hoyun Lee, Amadeo Parissenti, and Leslie Sutherland was briefly profiled in the article that can be viewed online here, or in the pdf file attached.
