What makes us unique?
Smaller class sizes allow easy access to your Biology professors. Direct contact with our faculty begins in first year, as all first-year Biology courses are taught by Ph.D.'s on a regular, full-time basis. This is especially beneficial for students who may need extra help or just want to further explore an interesting topic.
Our students enjoy hands-on lab time and field work. Some larger schools rely heavily on online demonstrations for their laboratory components. In Biology at Laurentian, you are guaranteed to be doing your own experiments, either in our lab rooms or out in the field.
Laurentian is fully bilingual and most Biology undergraduate programs are available in French. Many French immersion graduates choose us for exactly that reason. We offer a Certificate of Bilingualism (PDF page 4) which is extremely valuable in opening doors in the workplace and for future graduate work.
Are you interested in studying science abroad? Our Department has an active Exchange Program with the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, at the undergraduate and graduate level.
